I thought It was about time I got around to writing this post because there are a few questions that I get asked on a regular basis and tinting aftercare is one of the main ones.
With house and car tinting there is a drying out process after the window film has been installed. This drying out process can take from a few days to a few weeks depending on the weather. When the sun is out and the days are warmer the drying out process is a lot faster but during winter it can take a lot longer before the film is sitting completely flat and looking perfect on the glass again.
This in between phase during the drying out process is the main thing I will get questioned about. This phase is when moisture starts to appear under the film in blob-like formations or looks like funny lines and patterns.
Because the appearance of this moisture can look quite dramatic this is when a lot of people will freak out and call me in a state, thinking that their new film is bubbling and will soon all peel off.
I normally like to reply with, just ignore your windows for a week or two and then let me know if anything looks off after that time and I never do hear back because it will always dry flat and look fine in the end.
House tinting normally takes a little bit longer to dry out then car tinting and with car tinting it is recommended to leave the windows up for 24 to 48 hours while drying out for best results.
You can drive your car or open the windows in your house straight away without any problem.
The next question I get asked alot is how do I best care for my new window film and what should I use to clean it? It is actually best to just leave it alone and if it gets marks on it or needs cleaning to only use a microfiber cloth with a touch of water. Chemicals and other cleaning products are not recommended as they can be too harsh and over time damage the film which could also void the warranty. When cleaning it is best to avoid putting too much pressure on the film itself, especially around the edges where it could potentially catch or start to peel over time.
All of our residential window film comes with a lifetime warranty and we offer a lifetime warranty on our darkest legal automotive window film. We use high quality window films that are made in the USA, all with the lifetime guarantee.
This sums up the main things you need to know about tinting aftercare, but if you have any questions please ask as we love it if we can help in any way!

Bianca
